It is the first day of Camp Mudd and the kids are ready to go! Bring on the summer fun!
Busy, Busy, Busy…
Today was busy, busy, busy – mostly because we had to unpack from the campout. And do laundry. And John had a birthday party. And Camp Mudd starts tomorrow.
Camping Fun!
It was a busy day with the Cub Scouts. The boys got to do a lot of different activities. I am pretty sure that they have earned a couple of belt loops on this camp out. First up was learning to throw arrows using an Atlatl. All the boys (and parents too!) thought this was just really cool. Although, really, they are boys. How could throwing arrows *not* be fun?!?
Next up was a hike to Graham Cave and learning all about hiking safety.
This was followed by lunch back at our campsites and knot tying. John learned to tie a square knot.
We spent the afternoon hanging out, enjoying time with the rest of the families, and watching a skit made up by the boys (and girls).
We finished the evening with s’mores and the boys telling jokes around the campfire. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday – even if it was really hot!

Doubleheader Night
John had his first baseball doubleheader, so we spent the evening at the ballpark. Laura was bored a lot and somewhat annoying. It is a good thing she is cute!
John played really well. He has improved so much in just a short time and it is great to see his growth as a player. After the games, John’s team all received their participation medals. John was very proud! He still has one game left, but he is already looking forward to fall baseball.
