The Kassel Family Project Life 365

Reading does not come easy to John.  One of his chores is to read 20 minutes per day.  This can be frustrating for him, but lately he has been reading “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series and really seems to be enjoying them.  Not having to force him to read makes us all much happier.

The Christmas lights are on the roof!  Tomorrow, Andy will finish the lights around the front door and garage door and add the airblown Santa Claus and Christmas tree to the front yard.  Almost done!

I got all the lights and the angel on our Christmas tree last night, so tonight we added the ornaments, garland, and bows.  The kids love hanging up all their ornaments and I love being reminded every year of all the ornaments that we have.  Andy always comments that we probably have enough ornaments to fill three trees.  Maybe some day…

Unfortunately, the kids had to go to bed and could not stay up to help decorate the entire tree.  Even so, I still think the end result is beautiful!

It was a day of Scouting.  Laura had her monthly Girl Scout meeting where they had Court of Awards.  Laura earned a lot of badges and fun patches these last three months.  I am so proud of this girl for working so hard!

John had his monthly Cub Scout Den meeting where he brought home all the popcorn, meat, and cheese that he sold.  Way to go John Buddy!  Now, to sort and deliver it all.

Our Christmas cards arrived from Shutterfly last night.  I am really pleased with how they turned out and I am very happy that I went with this one.  Did I mention I made six different cards?!?

Laura really, really wanted to help label and stuff the cards, and I was more than happy to accommodate her request…  A little child labor never hurt anyone!

Seventy Christmas cards are stuffed, labeled, and ready for the postman.  Cross another item off my list!

Now that I am finally feeling better, the Christmas decoration process has begun!  First, we put up the Advent Calendar.

Then, it was time to weed through the multiple boxes.  This is only about one-third of the Christmas boxes, so it is going to take a few days…
