Laura has become obsessed with making Rainbow Loom bracelets recently. She has even been watching YouTube videos on how to make some of the more difficult bracelets. If anyone wants a bracelet, just let me know! I am sure she would be thrilled to make one for you!
Kid Activities
And the activities continue to increase. I took Laura to Kappa Delta Spa Day for Girl Scouts. She adores *any* activity that involves the Kappa Deltas and she even skipped Camp Mudd on a field trip day to attend.
Meanwhile, Andy took John to his first baseball practice of the fall season.
I foresee lots of busy times for the Kassel Household as Laura’s Junior Girl Scout Troop will be able to do all kinds of new activities, John starts up Cub Scouts again in September, Laura begins gymnastics again in September, and John will be playing both baseball and basketball. Bring on the busy times!
Fall Baseball!
Practice for fall baseball starts tomorrow! John will be playing on the Withrow Electric team again with three of the kids from his spring baseball team and three of his Unit A classmates. Andy took him to Dick’s Sporting Goods tonight for a new baseball glove and cleats. John is excited and ready to go!
Battery
As we were getting ready to leave the Lake of the Ozarks, we discovered a very dead battery in our truck. Not surprising given that neither Andy or I could remember when it was replaced last. Thanks to some trusty jumper cables, we got the truck started and made it back to Columbia. Andy took a trip to O’Reilly Auto Parts for a new battery and the truck is now starting like a champ.
Saturday at the Lake!
We spent all day today in the Lake of the Ozarks enjoying the water, great friends, and fun! The view is always beautiful down there.
John had been saying all week that he was not getting in the water. At. All. I *think* that changed about five minutes after Laura jumped in. He even decided the diving board was pretty fun!
Laura had a great time just swimming around. She enjoyed the diving board too. She especially thought going off the diving board with John and Lexie, one of the other kids, was just way cool!
We spent the whole day in the water and this was pretty much what we saw from the kids…
Smiles and fun all day long! Thanks to Greg and Beth Van Hove for the invite! It was a great way to spend one of the last weekends of summer!
