My Dad gave John a chess set. Andy had to do some repair on the pieces, but all that is complete. Now, Andy is putting felt on the bottom of the pieces to prevent slipping and the chess set will be ready to go. I think Andy and John are both excited to play chess!
John’s Pinewood Derby car is painted and the stickers are on!

The primer is on John’s Formula One Pinewood Derby car. It just needs to dry and the actual painting can begin!
Laura’s Girl Scout Troop hosted Saturday Café at First Presbyterian Church this morning. This program provides a free, hot breakfast for the homeless every Saturday morning. There were two shifts for the girls to work – one starting at 6:45 am and the other at 8:30 am. Laura decided she wanted to work both because “it is important to help the homeless and to give back.” With a statement like that, I didn’t even mind getting up at 5:30 am to get her there on time. 🙂
Time to sand John’s Pinewood Derby car! We are down to one week!
