Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time
Sometimes, you just need to take a break at the pool in the afternoon.

I did not have much chance to make soap or try new things in May. Between the cat bite from Jim and John’s graduation, it was a crazy month. I have certainly missed it! So, I made wickless candles this morning using a new fragrance oil called, “Winter Market,” and wax melts using “Wildflower Breeze.”

This evening, I made “Rainbows and Clouds” Triple Butter soap using “Ray of Sunshine” fragrance oil.

I finished up the night making my own deodorant, which will be substantially cheaper than purchasing at Target, assuming this experiment works. Laura and I will be testing these out soon!

It was a busy day around the house. I began the day making wickless candles and wax melts.

After crossing the first item off my list, it was on to several other things like getting out the July 4th decorations.

There are only two more things on my list. I will make the breakfast burritos tomorrow morning and the deodorant tomorrow night.

I always feel better at the end of a weekend when I have completed several things. The week can now begin.
I have been working on my home office in preparation for remote work that will begin July 1. I added a small set of drawers underneath my desk for office supplies, etc. For $16 off Amazon, the little set of drawers turned out to be the perfect size and will hold what I need it to hold.

I purchased some more storage bins from Home Depot to add more storage for soap, body, and candle supplies.

We also bought the paint. The color is called “Jet Ski”, and painting will happen this coming week.

While I am excited about working from home, I also feel sad. I have spent thirty years in an office environment, and I already miss my work people.
Summer can officially begin! The Kassel Family took our traditional ride to the Big Tree to celebrate the end of the school year.

It was fun times spent on the bike with the family along with good food, wine, and sparkling grape juice.

Cheers to Summer 2026!

Every year, we fight against the birds to nest in our front hanging baskets. Just like every other year, we lost again.

This year, it is doves and Jim can actually see them because they are fairly large birds. He is quite fascinated.

Here is to another month of carefully watering around a bird’s nest.
