Andy and John got some time together tonight. First, they went to dinner at Billiards for burgers and then to the Mizzou Men’s Basketball game. Despite the game not being particularly exciting (Mizzou won 82-42), my boys had a great time together!

To fulfill a requirement for his Second Class rank in Boy Scouts, John attended anti-drug awareness training with the MU Police Department tonight. His favorite part of the training was seeing a patrol car.

Andy’s favorite part of the training was drinking “cop” coffee. He said it poured like motor oil.

John only has two requirements left to complete his Tenderfoot rank and he is about 75% through his Second Class rank. He is working hard!
We have another framed Laura Kassel original in the house. This one is of the Colorado mountains from our summer trip. I am starting to run out of wall space and shelf space. It’s a nice problem to have.

John is participating in the Hickman High School Hitting Clinic again this year. He had a great first night and loved being back on the field.

The Halloween decorations are packed and put away and the Fall and Thanksgiving decorations are in their place.

Laura and I found this set of foxes at Hobby Lobby today. They were on sale for only $3 a piece. I could not pass them up as they are so cute!

This is my favorite Thanksgiving decoration. Laura painted a scene from the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving episode as a surprise for me.

The Kassels are ready for Thanksgiving!
Andy and I went to Park Restaurant and Bar for dinner to celebrate our 23rd Wedding Anniversary. It is a day early because tomorrow is going to be a busy day of activities.

To my husband, you were the guy that was just supposed to be fun, but you slipped right into my heart and became “the one.” We have been through it all – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Even at our lowest moments, we fought through it because being together is what matters in the end. Happy 23rd Anniversary, Andy! Thanks for always being there – even when I don’t think I need you.
It was another great Kassel Family Halloween filled with a few firsts. We started the day at Flat Branch for our traditional lunch and Great Pumpkin Ale.

After our growlers were filled, we headed home to carve our pumpkins. If you don’t have a Pampered Chef Scoop Loop, I suggest you get one. I cleaned out two pumpkins in less than ten minutes!

This was the first year that the kids carved their pumpkins all by themselves. We didn’t even help clean up the openings.

It was sad that we didn’t have to help, but also exciting because we didn’t have to help!

We spent the evening hanging out with great friends, eating tasty chili, drinking good beer, and just enjoying ourselves. For the first time, Laura did not go trick or treating and stayed home to hand out candy. It was a chilly night, but the kids still had a great time running around the neighborhood.

I realized at the end of the night that I only took one picture of the evening festivities. That’s another first. It was still a great evening spent with great friends!
