Andy and Laura built a trellis in between two of our deck stair supports for a Clematis plant. It is tiny right now and only has one flower, but that one flower is beautiful. I cannot wait for a few years down the road!

And, the time appears to have arrived. We bought these turf shoes the beginning of March for the upcoming baseball season.
John had *plenty* of space in them. He even commented that they felt big, so we thought that he would make it to fall ball before he needed new ones. That was wasted optimism. I actually had to help John squeeze his feet into these men’s size 7 shoes today and they are incredibly tight. I ended up ordering two new pairs. I wonder how long it will be before he sprouts up. As the doctor said, the feet get bigger first. If this keeps up, he will need new baseball shoes and regular tennis shoes by July. Lord, help me. Maybe if I stick him in a box, the growth will slow down a little? Please? Maybe?!?

The School Year Comes to an End
It was another successful end to what can only be described as the craziest school year ever. Laura is officially a freshman.
John is officially a seventh grader.
We rode to the Big Tree for our annual end-of-the-year celebratory picnic.
While there, a reporter from the Columbia Missourian asked to interview Andy and the kids about an upcoming article on the recent “bike fever” that has swept Columbia during COVID.
Despite a little bit of rain on the ride back, it was a fun afternoon celebrating the end of another school year! Best of all, it was the first time that we have done this picnic ride with zero complaints from the kids. Cheers to the summer!
New!
The old dishwasher is in the garage waiting for the delivery people to arrive. I will not be sorry to see it hauled away.
Because we decided to buy a higher end model, Andy did the installation to save us another $189.
It is a Whirlpool and it has a removable, third rack for large spoons, etc.
It is time to dirty some dishes, so I can use this new dishwasher!
New Recipe
We tried another new recipe this evening – Wafflewiches. It was another success and will be added to our recipe database. I think I have added about 30 recipes since we started working from home!
Ride
Sometimes, you have to walk away for an afternoon and go for a ride. It is even better when the one you love joins you, and you get to see your favorite tree.
It was the type of ride that I used to love and that I very much needed today. Thanks for letting me chase you for nearly 28 miles, Andy, and for slowing down for me when I needed it. Do me a favor though… If I ever have another year like last year where I have a love/hate (well, mostly hate) relationship with the bike, remind me about today.
