Whoops. Wrong holiday. It doesn’t matter because I love Halloween decorations! These skeleton shelf-sitters were added this year – See No Evil; Hear No Evil; Speak No Evil. How could I not get them?

I love this little guy hanging out in one of the plants. There is also a green spider and an orange spider in two other plants.

The inside of the house is decked out. Not only is it red wine season, but it is almost time for the big spider to return to the outside of the Kassel Castle!

For our Columbia and surrounding area friends, John’s Scout Troop is selling holiday wreaths and decorations. Prices start at $21. If you are interested, visit the website at http://scoutwreaths.org/index.html. Orders are due by November 6 and please enter John’s name during check out. Delivery will be no-contact to your home or business beginning on or around December 1. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for supporting Troop 706!

John is going to need a bigger shelf.

The Mid-MO Stars finished out their 2020 season coming from behind once again. It was 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning against a great Missouri Gators team, and the boys showed just how far they have come this season. Rather than give up, they took advantage of a bases-loaded balk and then a single to win 5-4.

In everything that was accomplished this season, I am most proud of how John handled himself today. He was struggling and the coaches really got on him, but he came back to give everything he had to help his team win instead of shutting down. That shows maturity and, just possibly, it is the realization that he can play through a bad day.

Way to go, Stars! You all make watching baseball fun! In 20 years, I hope each of you remembers this year. You left it all on the field. You showed so much heart. But, most importantly, you played for each other. It doesn’t get any better than that.

The Mid-MO Stars won two this morning in quick fashion. The run rule applied to both wins with the first game ending 9-4 and the second game ending 14-2.

We topped off the wins with a celebration lunch at Red Robin.

We spent the rest of the afternoon in the hotel pool with our baseball family awaiting tournament results. We ended up with the #1 seed, and we play at 12:30 tomorrow. Let’s get another one, Stars!
School is done and we are off to St. Louis for the last tournament of the year for the Mid-MO Stars. Here is to hoping that we finish with another championship!

I found some patriotic chickens to add to our Memorial Day/July 4 decorations. Then, I found some owls to add to our fall decorations, which led Andy and Laura to tell me that owls are just my version of fall chickens. So, here are even more fall chickens!

Full disclosure – Andy bought these owls for me because they are so cute and I love them.
The Kassel Castle needs more fall chickens!
