Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time

John got a new bat yesterday. He is in baseball heaven! We went with a new Marucci CAT8 because, after trying eight bats, it was obvious that it was “the one.” It is end loaded and the kid was hitting some zingers! I told him that since the bat was so expensive that I expect a return on my investment, so he owes me $5 for every time that the ball does not make the outfield. While I found that amusing, John did not. By the way, look at those guns on that kid! Where did those arm muscles come from?!?

I had three pie firsts today. I made my first cherry pie, complete with homemade pie filling. I made my first lattice topping though it could be much better. Also, I used lard instead of shortening in the crust. Andy says that I should never go back to shortening. I wonder what my mom would say. She swore by shortening…

John woke up at 7 am and then immediately went back to sleep in Andy’s chair.

Annabelle is here for a belated birthday sleepover with Laura. She has only been here for about two hours and I have heard nothing but laughing. I think the girls are happy to see each other!

It was time to add more pictures to the Missouri map that hangs in our living room.

There is not much space left for pictures. Time to visit more places in Missouri!
