It is time to try something new. I love a good Espresso Martini, so here we go!

It is definitely not bad. I might have to get more at some point.
2022 was not my finest year. It sucked – a lot. Being a “woman of a certain age” can screw with your brain and thoughts in a whole lot of negative ways, and let’s just say that I reacted poorly more than I would care to admit. Somewhere in September, I started realizing what was going on, but it took until the very end of 2022 for me to finally say, “ENOUGH.” So, we started 2023 with a ride to Cooper’s Landing with AMAZING bike friends and gorgeous weather.

When I said the weather was gorgeous, I mean that it was 70 degrees and the views over the Big Muddy were beautiful.

I was reminded many times today that time on the bike with people I love can fix whatever ails me. Here is to a much better 2023! Thanks to the people who helped get this year started. You do not know how much it meant to me. It really was the PERFECT day.

New Year’s Eve plans for Andy and me were cancelled, so we changed it up. It is football, pizza, and family at home.

We will celebrate with friends tomorrow at Cooper’s Landing and enjoy a quiet night at home tonight. Happy New Year from the Kassel Castle to you!

This is my favorite page from our 2023 Shutterfly calendar.

It was the perfect weather for a long walk on the trail.

Holy cow! Andy and I got to watch the Mizzou Men’s Basketball team completely dismantle Kentucky. This is their second win over a ranked opponent in only two weeks. Is there finally a real team somewhere on the horizon?
