We found out today that Laura’s lottery application for Ridgeway Elementary School was successful! Ridgeway is one of three magnet elementary schools in Columbia Public School. The curriculum centers around Individually Guided Education (IGE) for each child. We are very excited because this was our first choice. We know people that have children who attended Ridgeway and we have heard nothing but good things! Since Laura will be going there, John will also be allowed to attend without going through the lottery process. We couldn’t be happier!
Walking
Today, I walked a total of 4 miles. First, I walked two miles on a nearby trail this afternoon after work. Tonight, I walked another two miles with my neighbor while pushing John in the stroller. I think I’m going to be tired tomorrow!
The Camper
The Camper, Andy, and Tamara returned to Columbia about 6 pm this evening. It’s bigger than I thought it would be. I’m looking forward to being able to use it a couple of times a summer! Andy and Tamara drove 34+ hours all the way to Dover, Delaware to pick it up!
Gymnastics Express Spring Performance
Laura and John had the Spring Performance for Gymnastics Express today. It was about a one-hour long performance where all the kids got to show their parents just what they learn every week during their gymnastics lesson on the “Gym Bus.” Laura was great and did every part of the performance. John had too much energy today and largely ran around, but he did participate in a couple of things. The kids did cartwheels, somersaults, played with a parachute, jumped on the trampoline, and played golf. At the end, they all received trophies! It was a lot of fun to watch. Delaware
Andy is on his way to Delaware with our friend, Tamara, to pick up a pop-up camper. We are all excited about this because Andy and I and the kids will get to use the camper as well! It will be a long trip for him and Tamara with little sleep, and they won’t be home until Sunday. I’ve talked to him a few times already and the trip is going smoothly. We are looking forward to seeing them on Sunday though!
Swim Lesson Favorites
Thursdays are swim lesson days. At dinner, Andy and I always ask what the kids did at swim lessons that day. Today, Laura said, “The same as every time.” So, I changed it up a bit and asked the kids what their favorite part of swim lessons was.

Mowing Helper
One of my favorite things when Andy mows is to watch his little mini-me follow him around the yard with his little toy mower.
This was something that John started doing last year and it’s just too darn cute and fun to watch! Today, when Andy started up the mower, John was inside in the kitchen with me. He took off on a run towards the entryway yelling, “Daddy mowing! Shoes on, shoes on, Mommy! Help!” I guess he *really* needed to help!
