Laura is still sick. It’s Day #3. Her fever was 104 again today. I’m starting to wonder if she has a real flu and John just had a much more mild case of it. Laura has a bit of a head cold too. Of course, I also have a head cold so it’s hard to say what it really is. Today, Laura was miserable except for a few hours. During the non-miserable part of her day, she and Daddy “watched” the Chicago Cubs game (ok, so they did actually watch some of it!).
Well, Andy and I had to make the decision that we couldn’t go to the birthday party today. Laura’s fever was 104 about 40 minutes ago and she’s clearly miserable. I told her that we had to stay home and she’s very upset. She said, “Mommy, you made my heart hurt.” 🙁 I told her that we would get together with Kyler and Kathryn and do a little mini-birthday party for Kyler. I hate days like today.
Well, Laura ended up with the fever virus as well. I’m hoping that she’ll be feeling well enough tomorrow to go to a birthday party that she’s really been looking forward to. This was the poor, miserable girl today during one of the many naps. She basically watched movies, snuggled with “Sharptooth,” and slept all day long.
Tonight, we let the kids watch a movie. Laura chose Despicable Me again. Laura went to sleep during the movie, but John watched the whole thing.
Here’s to hoping that both Laura and John get a good night’s sleep because last night was pretty rough.
Looking through a stack of papers that the kids brought home from daycare were two paintings by John. I took the below one to work and Andy took the other. It’s nice to have something from the boy hanging on my wall!
So, I told Laura over the weekend that I had run into the Easter Bunny and told him that she and Johnny want bikes for Easter. She was VERY excited, but that, of course, led to her saying that she needed an orange flag for safety, a helmet to protect her head, and knee/elbow pads. THEN, this morning she decided to inform me that she doesn’t want a bike from the Easter Bunny. Instead, she needs more art supplies for her art station in her bedroom. So, Mommy Easter Bunny visited the store today to pick up some more art supplies. Yes, I’m crazy. It’s ok, I already know it. 🙂
John still has the fever. Today, he was more whiny too. I think his throat is hurting now, so we may end up taking him to the doctor. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon for my check up, so maybe I’ll take him with.
John is home today with what appears to be a fever virus. It started last night and got worse over night. About 3:30 am, his fever was right at 104. Ibuprofen is helping to keep the fever down. For being sick, John is doing pretty well though he has bouts of misery. He took about five hours worth of naps today and spent most of the day just lying around. He didn’t really want to do much of anything.
