Well, John is finally showing interest in potty training. Not too much, but he’ll go potty before his bath at night. He’s gone four nights in a row now. Unfortunately, that means a lot of cleaning for Mommy because he insists on standing up. I won’t complain though because it’s a start! 🙂
St. Patrick’s Day
For St. Patrick’s Day every year, Andy and I go to Flat Branch Pub and Brewing for lunch. Usually, we both eat the corned beef and cabbage. This year, I just had a salad, but it was still great friends, food, and beer.
The Irish Red Ale and Oil Change Stout!
As luck would have it, it was a gorgeous day yesterday for enjoying some time on the patio!
It was another good St. Patrick’s Day. 🙂
Kindergarten Registration
Today was the BIG day! Laura registered for Kindergarten at Parkade Elementary School! She was very excited and showed one of the teachers that she could write her full name. She wandered around one of the three Kindergarten classrooms and just took everything in. She did say that she already knew everything that was hanging on the walls. Along one of the back walls, the teacher had different words written on a board. Laura read at least half of them to one of the other teachers there who was quite impressed with it. The teacher asked me if Laura was in preschool. When I explained about the kids’ daycare, the teacher remarked to me, “She might be a little too advanced.” I simply smiled. 🙂
Now, on to pictures! Playing in the classroom

The Stack of Forms
I filled out all the forms to register Laura for Kindergarten tomorrow. I can’t believe that time is here already! Registration is from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at Parkade Elementary School. We’ll get the registration process complete and then we’ll take the Lottery Schools application to the main district office. We would like for Laura to attend Ridgeway Elementary School. We’ll know if she was randomly selected the beginning of May.
On another note, I spoke to my doctor this morning. All my test results were normal. She prescribed Prilosec for me and I have a return visit on April 6 to see how I’m doing. Unfortunately, this won’t be a quick and easy answer for me. There are several things that could be wrong. Ranging from a food allergy to digestion problems to my gallbladder just not working correctly. I’ll keep you all posted.
Ouchie Day
It was a very rough morning for me. I went to the doctor at 8 am and they pushed all over my stomach. I have to say that it hurt. Made me want to vomit actually. The doctor ordered blood work and an ultrasound to see what was going on. She did say it sounds like gallstones, but an ultrasound will confirm or deny it. So, the doctor’s office called to arrange an appointment for me at the imaging center for the ultrasound. Because it was snowing today, the imaging center had lots of cancellations. They got me in right away. Now, remember that I had many, many ultrasounds when I was pregnant with both kids. Those were absolute cakewalks compared to this one. In order to get good images of my gallbladder, liver, and kidneys, the technician was pushing really hard. A couple of times, I really felt very lightheaded and like I was going to vomit. Fortunately, the ultrasound was over in about 10 minutes. The results will be forwarded to my doctor in the morning. I’m really anxious for a diagnosis. I don’t like not knowing.
One of those days…
Today was one of “those” days. The ones where a lot gets done, but it feels like nothing much happened. I did the typical Sunday things like cleaning and laundry. I threw in some baking (Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars), relaxation, and fun time with the kids for good measure. 🙂
Movies!
The highlight of today? Taking the kids to the movies for the first time! So fun! Our neighbor suggested that all of us go to the Forum 8 Theatres for their Spring Free Movie Weekends. Today’s movie was “How to Train Your Dragon.” Laura and John have seen the movie, but it was a perfect opportunity to take them. 🙂 So, off we went!
Laura anticipating the start of the movie.
John enjoying the big bucket of popcorn (I had to buy Laura her *own* popcorn because John wouldn’t let go of the bucket and I didn’t feel like dealing with the screaming.)
Both kids really enjoyed the movie even though John got a bit bored. I think on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, this was a 10! Yes, we’ll be going again. 🙂 Thanks Jenna for the suggestion!
