Andy is on his way to Delaware with our friend, Tamara, to pick up a pop-up camper. We are all excited about this because Andy and I and the kids will get to use the camper as well! It will be a long trip for him and Tamara with little sleep, and they won’t be home until Sunday. I’ve talked to him a few times already and the trip is going smoothly. We are looking forward to seeing them on Sunday though!
Swim Lesson Favorites
Thursdays are swim lesson days. At dinner, Andy and I always ask what the kids did at swim lessons that day. Today, Laura said, “The same as every time.” So, I changed it up a bit and asked the kids what their favorite part of swim lessons was.

Mowing Helper
One of my favorite things when Andy mows is to watch his little mini-me follow him around the yard with his little toy mower.
This was something that John started doing last year and it’s just too darn cute and fun to watch! Today, when Andy started up the mower, John was inside in the kitchen with me. He took off on a run towards the entryway yelling, “Daddy mowing! Shoes on, shoes on, Mommy! Help!” I guess he *really* needed to help!
What Do You See?
What do you see in this picture?
Cans of soup and lemonade mix, right? Well, that’s not what I see! While making Andy’s lunch this morning, John was in the pantry “fixing” the cans. As he was doing so, he was counting to five. It was the first time I had ever heard him count to 5! I gave my John-Bon a big high five and hug! 🙂
The IML “Pet”
My Office has a “pet.” We have two geese that always perch on the roof of our building. Today, though, one of them was slowly ambling around the parking lot. At one point, I saw it sleeping on the pavement of the parking lot. Also, these two geese could largely care less about people and generally won’t move for you or your car. They are even prone to hissing at people. Today, I took the following picture on the way out of my building after work.
After taking the picture, I walked across the lot to my car. I hear hissing coming from said goose only to discover it standing no less than a foot from me. It startled me and I dropped my purse, cell phone, and car keys. The goose jumped back a foot or two, turned, and slowly walked away.
Sick Day #3
Laura is still sick. It’s Day #3. Her fever was 104 again today. I’m starting to wonder if she has a real flu and John just had a much more mild case of it. Laura has a bit of a head cold too. Of course, I also have a head cold so it’s hard to say what it really is. Today, Laura was miserable except for a few hours. During the non-miserable part of her day, she and Daddy “watched” the Chicago Cubs game (ok, so they did actually watch some of it!).
Broken Heart
Well, Andy and I had to make the decision that we couldn’t go to the birthday party today. Laura’s fever was 104 about 40 minutes ago and she’s clearly miserable. I told her that we had to stay home and she’s very upset. She said, “Mommy, you made my heart hurt.” 🙁 I told her that we would get together with Kyler and Kathryn and do a little mini-birthday party for Kyler. I hate days like today.
