I made the very last daycare/preschool payment for John this morning. While I am *very* excited to have $650+ extra per month, I am sad at the same time. My baby just isn’t a baby anymore!
Forgotten Day…
These days don’t happen often, but today was a forgotten day. It’s probably because we went to the Lake of the Ozarks yesterday and I spent all of today in catch-up mode. Between it all, I completely forgot to pick up my camera. Oh well…
The Lists
It is nearing the end of the month and I will be going shopping soon. I try to get as much done in one trip as I can. Of course, that one trip really means *four* different stores (Target, Aldi, Sam’s Club, and Hy-Vee) and roughly six hours of shopping. I can’t complain too much though because it reduces the amount of grocery and necessity shopping for the rest of the month. Maybe the lists just always look more intimidating to me?!?
A Day at the Lake
On the spur of the moment, we headed to the Lake of the Ozarks for a day of fun and relaxation with the Van Hove Family. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday! It was cool outside with temperatures in the mid-70s, but the Lake water was very warm. Laura spent nearly every minute that she could in the water.
John wasn’t so keen on the water because he hates wearing a life vest, but he did decide the boat was pretty fun. Also, he enjoyed feeding the duck that was hanging around.
Andy and I spent the day swimming a bit, drinking some good beer, eating some great food, chatting it up with everyone, and relaxing. Andy did have a small adventure for the day. He spent some time behind the boat in the inflatable boating tube. I *think* he enjoyed himself!
I, on the other hand, decided to just enjoy everything else about the day. What a perfect day at the Lake. Thanks Greg and Beth for the invite!
Central Missouri Food Bank
In lieu of birthday presents, the kids asked for food donations for the Central Missouri Food Bank. Today, we delivered 47 pounds worth of food and 4 backpacks for the Buddy Pack program! Thanks to all who donated! The kids were so proud and excited! Just wait until they get their “Thank You” letter.
I think…
Camp MUDD Family Night #2
It was off to Camp MUDD for another Family Night. First, the campers sang a variety of camp songs for us. I personally think that the camp songs are one of Laura’s favorite parts of camp. She really lights up when she gets to sing. Next, it was time for skits. It was Harry Potter Week at camp, so all the skits were based on that. All were great and the counselors even performed one for us too. It is really great to see Laura loving Camp MUDD so much. This time, she was a little reluctant to spend the night, but she was excited to watch “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” for the first time with the rest of the campers. We said goodbye to her about 8 PM and headed for home. It was another fun Family Night!
