This is what 6:15 am on a school day looks like in our household…
One of the Many…
One of the many reasons that Andy and I love the kids attending Ridgeway Elementary School is the communication between teachers and parents. A letter was sent home today from the Second Grade Math Teachers asking for assistance with helping the students learn their subtraction facts. While a lot of the students know their addition facts, they are struggling with subtraction facts. There were suggestions for ways to reinforce subtraction facts at home. It is great to have that kind of communication and we began working on subtraction facts with Laura tonight.
Friends!
We spent the evening at the Creech Household for dinner and a play date. The kids were so excited to get to spend time with Reagan and Wilson (Wil). Reagan was in Laura’s Unit A class and they are in Girl Scouts together. When I went to take this picture of the girls, Laura said, “Smile big Reagan! It’s POTD!” I think my Picture of the Day habit is wearing off on my kid… In any event, Reagan *did* smile big and I got a great picture of the girls.
I had to follow John and Wil around for a few minutes to snag their picture. Getting two boys to stop moving for one second is not exactly an easy task, but I finally managed to get them to stop!
The Kassel Family had a great time and the evening flew by. Thanks to Mary Jo and Shane for hosting us and for the great French Bread Pizzas and drinks! I think Laura and John are going to sleep well tonight! 🙂
John Time
Laura went to Annabelle’s house for an all-day sleepover extravaganza, which gave Andy and I a day with John. Unfortunately, I am still not feeling well so Andy took John and went for some guy time. They went shooting, out to lunch, to Target to pick up a birthday present, and to wash the car. By the time they got home, I was feeling a bit better. John told me all about his “Daddy Day” and then headed next door for a birthday party. While John was gone, Andy and I hung out on the back porch watching the multitude of hummingbirds fighting over our feeders. Andy picked John up about 8 pm and we spent the rest of the evening by the fire. It was a great day of “John Time” even though I didn’t get that much time with my little man.
