My birthday present “from Andy” arrived today. It is a travel jewelry organizer. Hopefully, this will make carrying all my jewelry easier when we go to San Diego. It has lots of space so I do not have to be quite as picky. Happy Birthday to me!
Doubleheader Night
John had his first baseball doubleheader, so we spent the evening at the ballpark. Laura was bored a lot and somewhat annoying. It is a good thing she is cute!
John played really well. He has improved so much in just a short time and it is great to see his growth as a player. After the games, John’s team all received their participation medals. John was very proud! He still has one game left, but he is already looking forward to fall baseball.

Baseball Pictures!
The Bat Saga, Part 2…
The Bat Saga, Part 1…
While at a graduation party today, John got hit in the eye with a foam-covered bat. He was playing catcher and was apparently too close to the bat. After the initial gush of blood (mostly from his nose), we got him cleaned up and discovered that he had a cut on his eyelid. There is no way to stitch it, so we just had to wait for it to clot. Some ibuprofen helped the pain and he was back playing after about 30 minutes. However, I think he is going to have a black eye tomorrow…
Another Night…
Columbia Daily Tribune
Ridgeway had their traditional end-of-year fun afternoon on Tuesday. Unit A had Bubbles and Chalk and Units B and C had Track and Field. The Columbia Daily Tribune was there to cover the events and took many pictures. I got a phone call asking for permission to use one of the pictures *just in case* because John was in it. I really did not think much of it because the reporter had taken a lot of pictures. However, when I went to the Tribune’s website yesterday, John and two of his classmates were on the front page! John is drawing a chalk outline around one of his best friends, Kole, while Henry looks on. This led me to drive all over Columbia today to the different machines until I found a copy of the paper. Another memory for John’s box!
