I am excited to send out our 2016 Christmas cards. I have waited a long time to do “A New Home for the Holidays” cards!
My little elves helped to stuff, label, stamp, and seal them…
…while I put them in the mailbox. Done!
Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time
We decorated our Christmas Tree today. It took me a while to get it up and all the lights on, but it was worth it. I always enjoy decorating the tree with the kids. Laura and John especially enjoy hanging their “yearly ornaments.” They get a new ornament each year for our tree and eventually these ornaments will all be given to them.
John’s favorite ornament is his “Baby’s 1st Christmas” ornament.
I think the end result is beautiful! It really feels like the Christmas season has begun now!
Today was our last day with the Illinois Blumes. Dave, Kristena, Avry and Addyson have to return to Illinois tonight. To celebrate our last day together, we went to lunch at Agave. Nothing like tasty chips and salsa with great family!
We couldn’t let them leave without visiting two of our favorite holiday places – the Magic Tree and the Candy Cane Crib. We started at the Magic Tree.
I loved looking at their faces when they saw that beautiful tree!
After lots of pictures, we headed to the Candy Cane Crib. Laura and John signed the sign as they do every year.
I made sure to get a picture of the kids.
It was sad to hug the Illinois Blumes goodbye and send them on their way. It was such a great few days and I miss them already!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your Thanksgiving was as great as ours – family, food, and fun. Exactly as the holiday should be.
I am so happy that these four got to spend the holiday together. Avry is older than the rest of them, but she still chose the kids’ table even though we invited her to the adult table. She’s an amazing young woman and I am proud to be her aunt!
We had a great time prepping food, drinking some good drinks, and talking the day away…
And we spent the rest of the day eating great food,…
…drinking some good drinks, and sleeping the night away!
It was the perfect Thanksgiving – great family, relaxation, and fun. Nothing better!
