Cub Scout Pack Meeting
John’s Cub Scout Pack got to have a K9 demonstration at their meeting tonight. It was a big hit with all the kids. John was a bit sad that he couldn’t pet the dog, but he understood that the dog is a working law enforcement officer. John declared the demonstration “really cool” and he was very happy that he got to see it.

Be Gone Groundhog!
Andy’s groundhog abatement is getting serious now… He is filling up one of the entrance holes to the tunnel under our driveway with concrete.
Easter!
He is risen! He is risen indeed! Happy Easter everyone! We began our day at Easter Sunrise Service. Unfortunately, it was raining so the service was held indoors, but I enjoyed this service anyway. You could still hear the birds chirping outside and it was a great way to start our Easter morning. Like always, we went to Bob Evans for breakfast, but skipped pictures at Shelter Gardens because of the rain. The kids were very excited to get home to see if the Easter Bunny had visited. John loved his Easter basket!
He particularly loved one of his new Minecraft books…
Laura was so excited to realize that not only did she get an Easter basket, but her American Girl dolls did too!

Then, it was off to hunt for eggs! I must say that the Easter Bunny was tricky this year. I suspect that we will be finding eggs for a while after Easter…
I particularly liked the location of this egg.
After the egg hunt, the kids opened all the eggs to a pile of candy while watching, “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown.”
Because we did not go to Shelter Gardens for pictures, I took a few of the kids on our back patio. The background with all the trees made for some nice pictures!
Andy and I spent the rest of the day doing some work around the house. We have a new chandelier in our dining nook and John now has a ceiling fan in his room! We had a great dinner and also got some relaxation time. We did miss the Lowery Family and Uncle Jeremy, but we had a great Easter Sunday.
Easter Eggs!
We dyed Easter Eggs today. Hailey, one of our neighbors, came over to help. The kids did a great job and made designs on some of the eggs.
This year, we had 36 eggs and nine different colors.
My favorites are always the darker colors, but I particularly liked the blue this year.
The finished eggs look great…
…and I see lots of deviled eggs in my near future!
