Someone wanted a new dress for Fifth Grade Graduation. I cannot believe she graduates in two days…
Project Night
CycleX Sunday Social Ride
CycleX, the bicycle shop that sponsors Andy’s bike team, has a Sunday Social Ride. We finally had the opportunity to go this evening and we took John with us (Laura was home with a minor cold). Andy and I were really proud of John! I think he also impressed the other adults who were on the ride. He did a great job and had absolutely no problem keeping up with the adults. We rode just over 11 miles with an average speed of 9.1 mph. John actually only started showing signs of being tired the last couple of miles.
It was a great ride and it was nice to get out on the bikes with Andy and John. I think John might have been a little more tired than he let on though. He fell asleep before his bed time…
Cub Scout Campout
The weather derailed our plans to begin the Cub Scout campout last night. Fortunately, the weather cooperated today and it was perfect weather for camping! The chosen location for this campout was Camp Takimina where our kids attend Camp Mudd in the summer. Andy and I were a little concerned about the location, but everything worked out quite well. We had a smaller group due to the weather, so the smaller campsite worked.
Everyone had a great time! The kids did a service project and then played the rest of the day. It was skits, scary stories, and S’mores around the campfire to finish off the night. Fun times!
St. Louis Arch and the Old Courthouse
Andy and Laura went on a field trip to the St. Louis Arch and the Old Courthouse today.
Laura said that going up in the Arch on the tram was a bit scary, but the view made it “totally worth it!”
She thought it was pretty neat that she could touch the ceiling of the observation deck, and she “loved, loved, loved the views!”
They also visited the Old Courthouse. Laura particularly enjoyed this and she loved the architecture in the building.
All in all, it was a great day for Andy and Laura. This is officially Laura’s last field trip at Ridgeway Elementary. It is another ending, but the new beginning is coming soon…

Bikes and Brews
It was a night out for Andy as he attended Bikes and Brews, which is part of Bike, Walk, & Wheel Week. The event started at Walt’s Bike Shop and spread out from there. There were various stops at different locations where you could sample different types of beers. Andy had a great time, arriving home about 11 pm. Maybe I will join him next year!
