John is writing his paragraph for school about what he will do over Winter Break. It will be busy and action packed – playing with new toys, seeing Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and (hopefully) having a sleepover with a friend. It will be fun times for our nine-year old!

Christmas Pageant
As part of the Duty to God requirements for Cub Scout Webelos, John participated in a walk-on, no-practice Christmas Pageant at Trinity Presbyterian Church tonight. He and one of his school friends, Jacob Fues, were Wisemen. John was nervous, but he still did a great job. Also, he told me after that he enjoyed himself. Sometimes, you have to face your fear!

Friday Folder
On every Friday school folder since starting Second Grade, John has gotten a check in the “I work quietly and do not disturb others” field, meaning that he does not work quietly and does disturb others. John likes to talk and play and he does both during class despite knowing that he should not do it. I think sometimes he actually just cannot help himself. When John got home from school today, he was so excited to show me his Friday folder. He had put a check mark in his “What I Think” column for that field, but there was no check mark from Mrs. Dempsey! He told me that he worked really, really hard these last two weeks and that he would try to keep it up. He was also very proud of himself and he should be. Great job, John!
