The tournament this weekend was not the Stars’ finest hour, but it isn’t always about what happens on the field. Sometimes, the baseball family comes together for that one “perfect” night where the pool is open, the boys are just being boys, and the adults are enjoying drinks and conversation. I thought to myself more than once that we are a group because of these boys, but nights like Saturday are because we are family. Like all families, we have our moments and people come and go, but there is always support no matter where you turn.
Time moves fast these days. I swear it was only yesterday that John walked onto a baseball field for the first time at 8 years old. It will not be long before he walks off the field for the last time and these days will only be memories.
So, all I can really say about this tournament is “thank you” to this amazing group of boys for bringing us together. Without you, us adults wouldn’t know just how lucky we are, and you wouldn’t have these memories to look back on 20 years from now.
Baseball family is life. We love it now because it won’t be there forever.

Our brand new Ford Explorer Platinum will arrive sometime in the next 8 to 12 months. Thank you to COVID for yet another odd consequence. While the cost makes my head spin, we have had our current Explorer Sport Trac for over 13 years and she is rocking nearly 225,000 miles.

So, we took the plunge and ordered exactly what we wanted. Now, we wait for her arrival.
I have been wanting to break this box down for recycling, but every time I turn around, Josefina has claimed it. Apparently, it is the “perfect” box.
