Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time
Laura completed another requirement, the five-mile hike, for the Second Class rank in Scouts. I am really proud of her for how hard she is working to achieve each rank.

A new year always begins for me when I close out the previous year on this blog. The last post for 2021 has been written and the 2022 categories have been created.
I have completed 4,006 posts since I began this journey on January 13, 2011, and it has been quite a ride. This blog has given me 6,472 photos in those 4,006 posts and each photo tells a story.
Let Year 12 begin…

It was a food…

…and football kind of New Year’s Eve.

We took Avry and Addyson to breakfast at Uncle John’s before we left for home. It was so great to see everyone even though it was a whirlwind trip.

We spent this evening in Byron visiting Uncle Art and Aunt Tammy. We also got to see a couple of my cousins, Kristin and Natalie. It was a great night of catching up with family that we had not seen since Mom passed away. We all agreed that we need to make a trip up there this summer for time in the pool.
On a side note, we also picked up a wooden clarinet from Art and Tammy. Assuming that Jerry’s Instrument Shop can get it cleaned up and make any needed repairs, Laura will have a real concert clarinet. She was so excited and in awe that the clarinet is 65 to 70 years old. Here is to hoping that Jerry’s can work some magic!

We headed to Belvidere, Illinois, today to visit Dave, Kristena, Avry, and Addyson. We spent the evening hanging out and eating pizza at Giordano’s. It is so good to see them!

This hawk has been hanging out in our backyard for the last couple of days.
