I was talking to a friend yesterday, and the idea came up to make soap for the Gold Star families that will be honored in the Memorial Day parade. I mentioned it to Andy, and he said that it would be easy to do the gold star, but the border would be hard. Well, that got me thinking and I spent part of today planning and then making the soap. This is the beginnings of the border.

I do need to use more white soap, and I need to make sure the star is in the middle. I will probably also use a true white soap instead of adding white colorant to clear soap. However, this was a great first attempt, and I am excited to show it to Angela!
