Anniversary Trip

Andy and I began our anniversary trip today in Harrisonville, Missouri. It is a small town in the Kansas City area. We went to Headquarters Winery and Mercantile for dinner and wine tasting.

It is a small batch winery, and their wines were really tasty. After tasting eight different wines, we chose a red wine, Amarone, to go with our dinner.

The food was fantastic. We both had Lobster Ravioli for dinner.

Because Laura texted us during dinner, Andy asked her what dessert we should get as her “gift” to us. She chose wisely! The Lemon Italian Cream Cake was the perfect end to dinner.

For the rest of the evening, Andy and I spent time together in our AirBnB. It was a great beginning to our short trip!

Halloween

It was the perfect Halloween weather. It was just a bit chilly, but warm enough to be outside. I made sure to take a picture of John with our friendly ghost.

It was a quiet night for us Kassels. We spent the evening hanging with another couple in our driveway. We handed out candy, enjoyed chili, and drank good beer.

Happy Halloween!

New Grill

Andy went to Home Depot today to purchase the new version of our current grill. The old grill had a good life, but nearly nine years was enough. While at Home Depot, Andy also found a pizza oven that was on sale for $99 (down from $299). Well, of course, you cannot pass up that deal! So, now we have a new grill AND a pizza oven.

End of the Season

Another Hickman Marching Band season came to a close tonight with the banquet.

It was a chance to celebrate all these kids and their hard work throughout the season. We love our Marching Kewpies, but especially these crazy trumpets!

Congratulations to the Hickman High School Marching Band on another successful season. You left it all on the field and marched your hearts out. We are so proud of you!

Busy Day

It was such a busy day for the Kassels. John had Homecoming at Hickman High School. He and Ari make such a cute couple!

Laura had Homecoming at Southeast Missouri State University and a performance at the Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis.

Andy and I spent the day hanging with old Sigma Chi friends and exploring Macomb.

The four Kassels had a great time, but I think we are all tired!
