I was watching John for a few minutes tonight and it struck me how much he’s changed in just a few short months. He’s counting (now and then), pointing out letters and numbers, and starting to really answer questions. He’s starting to mimic some of the things Laura says like using the word, “actually.” I’m excited, yet sad! Where has the time gone?
Easter!
What a busy, but really fun Easter! The day started out at Easter Sunrise Service. It was such a beautiful morning for church outside. John talked through most of the service, but both kids were really good. Next up was breakfast at Bob Evans and then home about 8:30 am to see if the Easter Bunny had stopped by. Sure enough the Easter Bunny (Jenna and Brent!) had hidden all our eggs both indoors and out and made sure that the kids’ Easter Baskets were ready to go! Both kids were really excited and had an excellent time hunting for eggs and tearing through their Easter Baskets.
The kids found Easter eggs in some interesting places!
John rides his new Tigger bike for the first time!
Laura, decked out in full protection gear, rides her bike for the first time!
After that, it was some relaxation time followed by cooking because we had the Henderson Family and Jeremy over for a tasty ham dinner! Now, it’s just time to relax and try to stay out of “food coma.” I think it might be a losing battle! 🙂
Day Before Easter
Easter preparation and getting all the stuff ready for the Easter Bunny visit! Been a busy day! Thanks Jenna and Brent for playing Easter Bunny!

Official Notification!
We got official notification of Laura’s acceptance to Ridgeway Elementary School today. Andy and I have a meeting on May 3 for orientation and then Laura gets to visit a classroom for “choice time” on May 9 or 11. Choice time is when the kids get 30 minutes to do what they want whether that is play, read, etc.
Budding Photographer
Laura has decided that she likes to take pictures with our camera. It’s big for her hands, but she certainly enjoys it. She decided she wanted to take a picture of her Cinderella dress.

Finally, I had to take her picture WITH the Cinderella dress:

We found out today that Laura’s lottery application for Ridgeway Elementary School was successful! Ridgeway is one of three magnet elementary schools in Columbia Public School. The curriculum centers around Individually Guided Education (IGE) for each child. We are very excited because this was our first choice. We know people that have children who attended Ridgeway and we have heard nothing but good things! Since Laura will be going there, John will also be allowed to attend without going through the lottery process. We couldn’t be happier!
