Today was a lazy, relaxing Sunday. I still did laundry and we went to church, but not much else happened. I think I hyper-extended my right knee while riding bikes yesterday so I had little desire to do much. I did some reading, Sphere by Michael Crichton. Laura spent the afternoon playing with neighborhood kids, and John took a three-hour nap. Andy watched some television and did some work on his computer. Sometimes, lazy Sundays are exactly what you need.
Decorating, Bike Rides, Birthday Parties, and Friends, OH MY!
Busy, busy Saturday! What a wonderful day though. First off, was decorating for Halloween! The kids had a great time helping me put everything out. The only thing left is to decorate the front yard.
After all the decorating fun and then a yummy breakfast of Biscuits and Gravy, we loaded up the truck with all bikes and trailer and took off for the trail. We got on the MKT trail at Scott Boulevard and headed to Missouri’s “Big Tree.” We ate lunch at the tree and then headed back.
We had about 30 minutes when we got home to get ready to head up the street for a birthday party for Laura’s friend, Miles. We hung out at the Williams’ house until about 4 pm when we headed home to relax on our back porch until the next “wave” occurred. We spent the evening hanging out with Lowerys (thanks for the tasty Mexican Casserole), Hendersons, and Jeremy and Chaley. Today, while jam packed with things was just a great time. Thanks all!
Wine Bottle Stoppers
Marilyn, my stepmom for those who don’t know, stopped by today to drop off a few things. These were a special surprise that my Dad made.
These are wine bottle stoppers and the picture really does not do them justice. They are beautiful! My favorite is the middle one, though I really love them all. Thanks to my Dad for making these! We love them!
Ahh……Fall Beer
The End of Frustration
So, after my work day ended in severe frustration, I was very angry and upset. I get home and head into the bathroom to shut the door and have some quiet time. I didn’t really want to have the kids see me in that mood. Andy did not realize that I was crying and sent John in to ask me a question. John sees me and gives me a hug. He then says, “Mommy, why you upset? I love you.” End of tears for me because how could you not smile after that?
Crazy Bathtime Yelling
Fun with Toothpaste!
So, John decided to brush his own teeth before bed this evening. I was still upstairs helping Andy with the kitchen when Laura came running up the stairs saying, “Johnny is making a mess with the toothpaste!” I immediately headed for downstairs to find what I will forever refer to as “fun with toothpaste!”
