We got a new Internet Service Provider today. We switched back to Charter Communications for both our Internet and telephone (our phone number is still the same). We have had CenturyLink for years now, but the most we could get was 10 Mbps. In truth, we could never seem to get more than 7 Mbps and we were paying for 10 Mbps. That, coupled with the rising costs, prompted Andy to contact Charter. As of today, we are getting 30 Mbps Internet bundled with our telephone and we’ll be saving approximately $28/month. As a test, I uploaded a couple of pictures to Shutterfly and realized it took only 10 seconds to do what would normally take 30 seconds to a minute… Ahhhhh… Faster Internet…
Our First Harvest!
Our garden is really doing well! Of course, we are watering it every day because it is so horribly dry here.
Even so, it looks great and we are starting to get some produce! I picked a Roma tomato, a jalapeno pepper, and enough green beans for a meal today! We have at least 50 other tomatoes growing in various stages on the plants and I’ll have to pick the green beans again on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Yay for fresh produce!

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!
My shutterbug habit can produce some really interesting pictures… Sometimes, I get lucky and catch some really funny ones.
Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire! Actually Bobby’s pants are *not* on fire, but it sure looks like it! We were hanging out with some of our great neighbor friends, the Kinsleys, when the men decided that we needed some “preparations” for Independence Day. This included an impromptu trip to Bob’s Fireworks stand to purchase Sky Lanterns and the loudest bang-producing fireworks that they have. While launching the first Sky Lantern, a piece of the tissue paper caught fire and fell to the ground. Courtesy of where I was standing, it produced *that* picture. The fact that Bobby’s pants appear to be on fire is hilarious enough, but standing in the back of the picture is his daughter, Chloe, who has her hand covering her mouth in stunned surprise! Not to worry though…the Sky Lantern launched without anymore glitches. The kids all waved goodbye and watched as it floated out of sight.

Father’s Day “Daddy Craft”
The kids made gifts for Andy today at daycare. They had to wait a day or two because one of the kids at daycare lost her father. My kids are so lucky to have both of us, so waiting a day or two for the “Daddy craft” (as Laura called it) is just not a big deal. John was very interested in doing his craft until he got glue on himself and then he was done. Cheryl had to finish it! Laura told us all about how she put glitter and shells on hers. Andy asked the kids if he should hang them up or use them as Christmas ornaments. By mutual agreement, they will become new Christmas ornaments and, according to Laura, our Christmas tree will be *much* better now!
