While picking up John today, I checked his take home folder just as I always do. Inside was a small stack of papers. Sifting through them, I came across “Lego Robin” that one of his teacher’s made for him. John was wearing a Lego Batman and Robin shirt yesterday and Miss Kristina drew Robin for him. John said, “Miss Kristina drawed my scary train yesterday and today Lego Robin! She’s good Mama.” Also, I discovered a little “book” the kids made and they wrote their names on the back. I am so impressed with how well John is writing his name. He is almost as good at writing his name now as Laura is at writing her name. He’s doing so well at Walnut Street Day School!

Friends!
We spent the afternoon and early evening visiting the Dothages and Tamara and Kyler. The kids got some much needed play time and the adults got some friend time. Thanks to Tamara for hosting us (and to Keith for entertaining Andy while the rest of us went to Tamara’s house)! The kids played while us ladies ate good food, had some good drinks, and chatted away our time. As usual, it ended too fast, but we were glad to be able to see everyone. What a great way to spend an afternoon off work and school.
Cookies Sales Success!
I think you can call this year’s cookie sales for Laura’s Daisy Scout Troop a success. Between the ten girls, they combined to sell 1,000 boxes of cookies! That’s $500 for the troop. Also, that total does not count cookie booth sales and potential donations. The troop gets to keep all donations and Laura collected $36 in donations! I’m sure you can tell that Andy and I are so proud of our little Daisy Scout. Of that 1,000 boxes, Laura sold 136 boxes! She is very proud of herself and excited to get to help decide how to spend the funds. Go Ridgeway Daisies!
“New To Us” Books and Movies!
John and Melinda Adams stopped by today with some “classics” books and movies for the kids. John thought that Laura could use the books for her “quiet time” reading at the beginning of her EEE sessions. She was excited to see the new books and spent most of the rest of the afternoon looking through them. Her favorite so far is The Legend of Sleepy Hallow & Rip Van Winkle. She said she would have to think about which book to take on Thursday for EEE. Now, on to my project which is finding a place to put the new books!

Girl Scout Cookies!!!
My “super, fantastic, fabulous” husband came home from work today with a box of Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies in his lunchbox. He has had them in his desk drawer since last year. Initially, I was quite excited at this little discovery and we immediately opened them to have a couple tasty Thin Mints. Then, it hits me…
- Who keeps Thin Mints for a year and doesn’t eat them?!?
- I did *NOT* even know he bought any last year! The man was holding out on me!
- He has another box of those wonderful, delicious cookies at his work!
He is *VERY* lucky that I have had a glass of wine…. 😉
