Date Night for Andy and I! (Special thanks to Jeremy for entertaining the kids for us!) We started with dinner at Lone Star Steakhouse. Andy had the 14-ounce Ribeye steak and I had the Sweet Bourbon Salmon. YUMMY! Then, we went to see the Mizzou Men’s Basketball game versus Vanderbilt. Mizzou eventually pulled it out with a 67-64 victory in the end, but neither team deserved the win. The score at halftime was 21-20 and the stats were terrible. Play in the second half was better, but only marginally so. At least, we had a great time watching Truman the Tiger running around as he was more animated than we have ever seen him. Truman and the woman on the “Kiss Cam” had to be one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time at a Mizzou sporting event! Despite the game, it was a great date night with the husband and I really enjoyed getting out of the house sans kids.
Rough Time…
It has been a rough seven days… I had a cyst in my left breast aspirated. Fortunately, it is just a cyst, but this could end up being a somewhat regularly recurring thing. My breast still hurts a bit. Not fun. Follow that up with the fact that I found out that I am, in fact, in full-blown menopause at the age of 40. Even more not fun. As if that wasn’t enough, today I had a professional disappointment that is leading me to seriously consider looking for a new position somewhere else. Really, really even more not fun. On the flip side, I’m now drinking a glass of “Chill Out” Cabernet Sauvignon and I drove home from work with the windows down. Look on the bright side, Erica, look on the bright side.
Where’s George?
Why is Andy writing on money, you ask? Well, he’s recording for “Where’s George?,” a currency tracker. Today, he mentioned that one of the bills he entered was actually in the database and listed as brand new in 2008. Yes, he is being a bit nerdy, but he enjoys this hobby of his. That’s just my husband. It is one of the many reasons why I love him.

Drink of the Day
Valentine’s Day!
It was a busy Valentine’s Day! The kids did not have school today, so we used the opportunity to deliver Girl Scout Cookies to both my work and Andy’s work. Laura also worked a cookie booth at the Kappa Delta house for two hours. She had a blast doing that and the troop sold a lot of cookies! (Thanks Amy Childs for taking this picture! Too cute!)
While Laura was at the cookie booth, Andy and I took John to lunch at Jazz. Yummy, yummy! Then, we picked up Laura from the cookie booth and I took Andy and her back to his work to do more cookie delivery. Before heading home, I took John out for an ice cream date at Baskin Robbins. He was so excited when I let him get TWO scoops of ice cream! Although, Rainbow Sherbet and Mint Chocolate Chip are an interesting combination. I am not sure I would be that bold…
We all met back home a little later for a relaxing evening. On the way home from work, Andy and Laura stopped at both The Candy Factory and Hy-Vee. They came in the door carrying Chocolate Covered Strawberries in white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate, and some beautiful flowers. My favorites are the white chocolate covered strawberries.
Before I had even managed to eat one, I turned around to find this…
At least she comes by her love for these honestly… Now, to spend the evening eating a great, steak dinner and relaxing with the Olympics.
Hmm…
Today went by and no pictures. Between morning work, Valentine’s Day parties at the kids’ school (I helped with the snacks for John’s classes and Andy called Bingo for Laura’s classes), Girl Scout cookie delivery, dinner at Pizza Hut, Ridgeway skating party, and watching the Olympics, you would think I would have taken a picture or two. But, no. It just didn’t happen. Oh well. It happens now and then…
