John had to finish his “homework” this evening. He worked on writing the letter “K” in both uppercase and lowercase. Right now, he is excited about homework. I wonder how long *that* will last…
The Morning Routine…
…goes something like this:
5:15 My alarm goes off.
5:30 I shower and get ready.
6:10 I wake up the kids.
6:15 The kids eat breakfast.
6:30 The kids get dressed and ready for school.
6:40 The kids make their beds.
6:45 The kids and I wake up Andy to say goodbye and then get ready to leave the house.
6:50 The kids and I walk to the bus stop.
6:55 The kids get on the bus and I leave for work.
It is a busy, busy time. Every morning.

Not Again!?!
Family!
There is a new member of our family! Jack Lloyd Dinsmor, our nephew, was born at 9:10 pm, weighing in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 20 inches long. We will get to meet him at the end of this month when we visit the Chicago area for Spring Break. I cannot wait! Andy and I are thrilled for Ian and Amanda. Welcome to parenthood! There is *truly* nothing better.
On a funny side note, I showed Laura and John the pictures of Jack. Laura was so excited and said, “Wow! Is that what Baby Jack looks like? He’s so cute and little! Do you think I can hold Jack when we meet him at the end of this month?” John looked at his picture and said, “He’ll be more fun when we can play cars. Babies are BOOORRRING.” Aw….the differences between girls and boys.
New Washer and Dryer!
Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences
We had Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences today after the kids got out of school and both went great! Mrs. Hanney said that John has really come out of his shell and just improved so much. He loves reading group and participates all the time now. The main thing for him to work on is slowing down when he writes. John writes well when he takes his time, but most of the time he just hurries through. Mrs. Sandstedt said that Laura continues to work hard and is a great student. She is learning to write stories. Laura is great at putting the story together, but she needs to focus on the actual writing, including the spelling and punctuation. Overall, both conferences were positive and I am so proud of both kids for working so very hard! Way to go Laura and John!
