This is what the first two days of Camp Mudd did to John. Absolute fun AND exhaustion! He didn’t even want to play with any of the neighbor kids tonight. I would declare Camp Mudd a success. John is having so much fun that he just won’t stop. I’m guessing he will sleep well tonight…
Let Camp Mudd Begin!
It was the first day of summer fun at Camp Mudd! Laura was so excited and she just couldn’t stop talking. John was nervous, but excited. It was a very successful first day as John said that the “Jolly Green Giant” game was his favorite and Laura’s favorite was the all-camp scavenger hunt game. Let the summer begin!
Busy Brownie Day!
We spent most of today busy with Laura’s Brownie Troop. First was a scavenger hunt at Art in the Park. The girls had a board of 16 different things and had to go around from booth to booth looking for the answers. Some of the things included finding a female sculptor, finding a piece of jewelry with a flower on it, and asking a local Columbia artist what the inspiration for their various pieces is. Being an artist herself, Laura very much enjoyed looking at all the art.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at Shelter Gardens for this year’s Bridging ceremony and working on badge work. Laura finished her “World of Girls” Journey badge by presenting what life is like for girls in Australia. She also completed step 2 of the Brownie painting badge. Laura declared it a “Brownie-tastic Day!”
Kids’ Workshop!
Ah… Friday…
The End of School
It is the end of another school year. Laura is officially a Third Grader and John is officially a First Grader! Where did the last year go? It went in the blink of an eye…
The kids had a great last day of school. They attended Fifth Grade Graduation where Laura received the Effort Award. She was one of two Unit B students to receive this award. They got to eat ice cream sandwiches and enjoy a yearbook signing party. The school day was shortened with the kids arriving home about 12:30. On to the summer!
