Swimming, Rock Bridge State Park, and Sleepover. Yay summer!
Swimming!
It finally feels like summer! We got to spend the late afternoon and evening at the “Dothage Fun Complex” and enjoy time in the pool with great friends.
What a difference a year makes! John was so excited when he realized that he is now tall enough to stand up in the pool. There is no stopping him now.
The kids and Andy decided to play a game of “shoot each other with the water cannons.” However, it quickly became the kids against Andy. Please don’t worry! Andy held his own and I *think* he even enjoyed himself a little…
It was just a great time with great friends! The adults got to hang out, drink some good drinks, and relax. The kids swam, swam, and swam some more. Andy might just be a little sore tomorrow though. He spent a lot of time throwing three kids around the pool. It started with Laura…
It quickly became, “Again, Dad, Again!” Even Kathryn and John got in on the throwing fun.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. By 9 pm, we had tired kids. Both Laura and John cried during their showers. They will sleep well tonight and they should! What a great, fun day spent with great friends. Welcome to summer!
Breakthrough…
…even if it is a small one! John attended Brayden’s 8th birthday party today at Empire Roller Rink. With some coaxing from Andy, John finally put on a pair of roller skates and went around for a lap. John only fell a couple of times and he was very proud of himself. This is a big step because we have been roller skating a few times and John would never try. Maybe next time, he will take two laps!
