The kids had their two-year eye doctor appointment today. Laura got a clean bill of healthy eyes. John is a bit farsighted in one eye and nearsighted in the other. That means that he needs more time outside and less time on the computer/tablet. I think we can make sure that gets accomplished.
Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day to the man who didn’t want kids when we got married. I am so glad that you nearly made me choke on coffee that one Saturday morning ten years ago when you said that, just maybe, you had changed your mind. Our days of leisurely weekend mornings that started after 9 am and coffee while we sat in bed are long over, but these two love you so much and are lucky to have you as their Daddy. I love you Andy Kassel. Happy Father’s Day!

Oh, to Be a Kid Again…
Vacation Bible School
The kids are having a blast at Vacation Bible School! This year’s theme is “Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus Was a Kid.” Laura is part of the Simeon Tribe and John is part of the Dan tribe. They begin each night with the opening and then move on to time with their tribes at all the different stations. Both kids have loved visiting Mary’s House and the craft station. It has been another fun year!
Smile!
Laura lost another tooth on Sunday. Since Andy was out of town, she wanted to wait until Monday night to put it under her pillow so that she could show it to him first. She wrote a note to the “Thooth Fairy” asking for a book all about teeth. Let’s just say that presented a challenge, but Laura found a book called “Smile” under her pillow this morning. It is all about Raina, a sixth-grade girl, who falls one night and severely injures her two front teeth. It chronicles Raina’s long, frustrating recovery that includes braces, surgery, headgear, and a retainer with fake teeth attached. Great find “Thooth Fairy!”
