This is the back of Laura’s Junior Girl Scout Vest that is already filling up with fun patches. She has only been a Junior for four months…
Girl Scout Cookies!!!
Yes, it is that time of year again! Girl Scout Cookie sales start on Friday, January 8! Let me know if you want anything. I’ll even ship! The cookies are $5 per box and Laura’s troop is selling Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Shortbread, Thanks-A-Lots, Cranberry Citrus Crisps, and Lemonades. I might even take a few orders early… 🙂
Busy Sunday
First, John had his first basketball practice for Upward Basketball League.
Besides practice, he received his uniform today. Games start January 23!
Then, Laura had the Girl Scout Cookie Rally. Cookie sales start January 8!!!
Finally, John had a Cub Scout Den meeting where he made a bird house out of recyclable materials (think Goldfish box) and listened to a veteran talk about being in the military. It was a busy, but fun, activity-filled Sunday!

Pizza and Movie Night
It was pizza and movie night (without John because he was at a sleepover) at the Kassel Household. We made homemade pizzas. Laura got to make her own with nothing but black olives.
Andy and I were a bit more adventurous with our toppings – pepperoni, Italian sausage, black olives, tomatoes, and red onions. It was yummy, yummy pizza!
After dinner, we watched “Jurassic World.” Laura was only scared in a few parts and loved the movie. It was a fun, relaxing night.
2016!
New Year’s Eve!
We rang in the “new” year at the Dothages with great friends. The kids had a fantastic time playing and the adults hung out, watched football, played card games, and chatted. Most of the adults were tired so we celebrated the Eastern Standard Time new year. We watched the ball drop and then headed for home. It was a fun, relaxing evening. Exactly as it should be!
