Andy is going to do some filming for Bur Oak Brewing with his Big Tree Cycling bicycle team this evening. Bur Oak Brewing is one of the team’s sponsors. He is not sure what they will use the film footage for, but he is looking forward to participating.
Father’s Day
Happy, Happy Father’s Day to my husband! Thank you for always being there for our beautiful children, for hugging them when they need it, for disciplining them when they need it, for being there in all the moments whether big or small, and for supporting me as their mother. I love hearing them call you Daddy.
We love you!
Softball!
Our niece, Avry, had a double elimination softball tournament at Mid-America Sports Complex in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, this weekend. We took the opportunity to go watch her play and see Andy’s brother, Dave.
We got to see two games and, while Avry was not particularly happy with the way she played, it was still great to watch her. She played Center Field in the first game and laid down some nasty bunts to advance the runner.
She played catcher in the second game. Unfortunately, her team lost the second game, and it ended the tournament for them. Not the way the Wasco Diamonds wanted to finish the tournament, but it was still great to see Avry play!
She has another tournament in July at this same complex. We are definitely going back!
Relaxing
Goodbye
There are a few things that I continue to hang on to that belonged to the kids when they were younger. This morning, I said goodbye to these interlocking plates and two bowls. It was time. The kids have not used them in years and all they did was take up space in my kitchen cabinet. It is another reminder that my toddlers are not toddlers anymore…
Another Season Done
Another baseball season came to an end this evening and we went the whole season with no baseballs to the face! John is really improving. He has been paying close attention to every Chicago Cubs game that he watches and applying what he sees the “big boys” do. His swing is better and he is making great fielding choices. It also helps that he has a big love of the game. On to Fall Baseball!
Things Little Boys Say
John informed me tonight that his penis does weird things when it is big. I felt like running screaming from the room, but instead just stood there with what I am sure was the most dumbfounded expression ever…
