More lighting projects for Andy came in today.  First, we have a smaller ceiling fan for John’s room.  This one has 44-inch blades instead of 52-inch.  This will make being on his loft bed more pleasant because he will not worry about being hit in the head by the blades all the time.  We will move the ceiling fan that is in John’s room to our guest bedroom.  Then, the last light for the back of our house has arrived.  Andy will be adding two lights around the John Deere room doors and replacing the one by our downstairs back patio.  At some point, we will actually be done with replacing the lighting in our house…

John hit a double tonight and then scored a run.  His team played well and they won their game 5-3.  It is hard to believe that the season is already half over!

The weather has also cooled considerably this week, so I figured it was time for our fall decorations.

It was so nice to actually be able to decorate this year because there is no packing or buying/selling a house.

Such is the life of a boy…

I finally found “the” curtains for our living room.  They really show off the blue and provide just the right amount of contrast.  The best part is that these were only $50 at Lowe’s.  Sweet! 

Laura and I finished up her Get Moving Journey for Junior Girl Scouts today.  Her group made pillows from leftover fabric and grocery bags.  I helped to sew the pillows while Laura stuffed them with the grocery bags and then hand sewed them shut.  It was a neat project that taught Laura’s troop how to use materials in new and different ways.  It is also another project completed on the way to Laura earning the Bronze Award!

I am enjoying a glass of red wine while I make Rhubarb Sour Cream Coffee Cake (thanks Marilyn for sharing the recipe!) and Steak and Cheddar Mac and Cheese for dinner.  The windows are open in the house, Andy is on a ride, and the kids are relaxing.  What a great way to kick off a three-day weekend!
