John has new lights under his bed for his hang out area. He was so excited that he can turn them on and off with the swipe of a hand.
Noise…
We made it all the way through two babies/toddlers without having lots of “noisy, annoying toys.” However, we decided that a mini basketball hoop would be a great Christmas gift for John. Andy has officially labelled that as dumb parenting idea #3,410,962. John makes more noise shooting hoops than ANY of those noisy, annoying toys ever would have. On the bright side, he’s burning off that extra boy energy right?!?
That Kind of Day…
It was the kind of day where you work around the house all day and never sit down. I realized tonight before I fell asleep that I never took a picture.
Upward!
It is that time of the year again! Let Upward Basketball and Cheerleading begin!
Big Sister got to cheer for Little Brother’s game today.
John’s team lost mostly due to poor shooting, but the boys did really well for their first experience as a team. John earned a star for Offense and was happy to be playing again.
Goodbye Bare Bulbs
I am very excited to say goodbye to the bare bulbs in our basement! They had a good life, but it is time to make way for the new light fixtures.
Andy spent the afternoon hanging the three new light fixtures.
He started with the one over the bar. I provided moral support and held up his work light when he needed extra lighting. Hey, it was a tough job, but someone had to do it! The end result was fantastic. I love this light!
For the other two fixtures, we chose matching track lighting. The middle fixture has six lights and the end fixture has four lights. Once we get pictures hung up, we will reposition the lights to point out the different pieces on the wall. Needless to say, our basement is not only brighter, but the new fixtures just look so much better. On to hanging pictures and eventually painting!

Globetrotters!
Andy took John to see the Harlem Globetrotters tonight. John was a bit confused at first because he expected more of a “real” basketball game. Once John understood what happening, he had a great time! He said, “I laughed a lot, Mom! The Globetrotters are super fun and super silly!” I *think* that means his first Globetrotters experience was a winner. 🙂
