Laura’s Cheer Season with Upward ended tonight with Awards Night. Her cheer team got to do one more cheer for the families and we also got to see an Illusion show. All the kids also received a very nice string backpack. Laura really improved this year and I know that she will miss cheer.
Mady used to live next door to us when we lived on Harold Court. They moved about a year before we did. Recently, Laura advanced to Intermediate 2 and she and Mady were reunited in class. It is good to see old friends!
As part of the Sunday School program at our church, each class learns a different thing. This is Laura’s last year for Faith Stepping Stones because the Confirmation program begins for her next year. The Fifth Grade class does the books of the Bible. As part of the process, the kids make a project to show the congregation as the video of them reciting the books of the Bible is played. Laura wrote the books from the Old Testament around the cross on her poster board and Emma wrote the books of the New Testament on her board. The girls did a great job and I loved their projects!
It is my favorite festival of the year – the Missouri Beer Festival! Like always, it did not disappoint. We tried lots of great beers with my favorite being the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Option #2 from Rock Bridge Brewing Company. It was amazing and really did taste like the cereal as a beer. Here is to hoping that it wasn’t just a one-time, speciality beer and they can actually keep that little bit of heaven in a glass and bottle (or can) it!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! The tradition of enjoying beer and Corned Beef and Cabbage at Flat Branch continued this year. We spent the afternoon hanging out on the patio and enjoying good beer. It was a little afternoon of wonderful!
It was “divide and conquer” tonight. I took Laura to her Drama Club Performance, and Andy took John to his Cub Scout Pack meeting.
The Drama Club performed “We Came From Everywhere,” and Laura and one of her friends, Hannah, were the stage managers. The girls did a great job and the play was quite cute! As a funny side note, the Drama Club teacher told Amy (Hannah’s Mom) and me that our “sweet little girls were the bossiest stage managers” and she really didn’t have to do much to keep the kids focused and on task because the girls did it for her. Amy and I had a good laugh over that.
Meanwhile, Andy and John went to the Cub Scout Pack 2 meeting. John earned his Bear rank and I am very proud of him! Soon, he will be a Webelos 1, and it seems like just yesterday that John was starting Cub Scouts. Time is moving too fast…
