Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time
I finally remembered to order a copy of this photo today. This is Avry, our niece and amazing softball player, giving her all in the outfield. Her mom captured this picture and I love it so much that I am printing a 5 X 7 to put on our living room shelves. We love you Avry!
Today was John’s turn at the eye doctor for his regular check-up. All went quite well despite him declaring that eye doctor appointments “suck.” He is plugging along with 20/15 vision in both eyes and does not need to go back for another two years.
Andy and I took our trail bikes out for a spin today travelling from downtown Columbia out to the Station House at Katfish Katy’s and back. The first part of the ride was a lot of fun. I was having a bit of knee pain, but it wasn’t horrible. We had a nice lunch and a couple of drinks at the Station House and hung out with some friends who arrived while we were there.
It was all good until the ride back. The knee pain was a result of my saddle not being placed properly. Let’s just say that the ride back was not my best effort. It was actually incredibly frustrating and demoralizing. I felt like I took a big step back today despite crossing the 350-mile mark for the year. I know that if the saddle was adjusted properly that I would have most likely been fine, but I spent the rest of the day in a funk. Frustrated. Not the way I wanted to spend today.
John’s Cub Scout Pack had a barbecue at Stephens Lake Park. It was hot, but fun! The boys (and their siblings) had a great time and us adults got some time to chat with each other. It was a nice way to spend a Saturday evening.
Just another Friday night at the pool.
Laura is a champ! Two of her molar teeth came in decayed, most likely the result of a high fever as a baby when they were forming. There is nothing Laura could have done and it was not her fault. Today, because the teeth were so soft, she had the gum lasered off and then fillings put in. Hopefully, this will strengthen the teeth enough to prevent having crowns when she is older. Laura did so great and Dr. Dan told her that she was better than most adult patients. I am so proud of her!
The time has arrived again! It is the first day of Camp Mudd!
