Sometimes, when you own a home, you have to do the things you really, really don’t want to do. In our case, we are going to have a lot less shade in our backyard. We are having one of the trees totally removed because it was hanging over the roof of the house and the Walnut tree that was right next to it trimmed back to hopefully save it. The crown of the Walnut broke in a storm and the part that did not come down in our yard was laying on the Elm tree. The two trees were also so intertwined that the branches were rubbing together and causing issues. We were very sad to have to cut down an Elm tree and cut back the Walnut. One positive is that this will clear the roof for solar panels when the time comes, but it just sucks to have to take down the trees.

Lighting Projects
More lighting projects for Andy came in today. First, we have a smaller ceiling fan for John’s room. This one has 44-inch blades instead of 52-inch. This will make being on his loft bed more pleasant because he will not worry about being hit in the head by the blades all the time. We will move the ceiling fan that is in John’s room to our guest bedroom. Then, the last light for the back of our house has arrived. Andy will be adding two lights around the John Deere room doors and replacing the one by our downstairs back patio. At some point, we will actually be done with replacing the lighting in our house…
