I got an email from John’s teacher today that he has not been doing his daily reading assignments at night. I was not aware that he actually had daily reading assignments. You see, John hates reading, so I was not all that surprised to find this out. When I picked him up from Chess Club, I talked to John about it. He told me that he just forgets and he is given a book to read each night. So, we made a new rule. Each day after school, John will put his daily book along with his Home School Folder on the counter, so that we can help to get all his assignments done. Tonight, he read us Kangaroos in Trees, and he did a great job!
Laura’s New Toy
Charging Station
A while ago, Andy set up a charging station on our built-in bookshelves in the living room. Between the four of us, we have several devices to charge – smartphones, tablets, bike computers, etc. Recently, we had to add a different charging tower because there were so many devices. I hated looking at the bookshelves and seeing all the cables and the messy look. Andy suggested getting a small table to put behind one of the chairs to use as a charging station. Well, you don’t have to tell me twice! I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and spent $40 on a small table. This morning, I felt much less stress when I looked at the bookshelves because it is so much more neat and clean. No more cables and devices to see because those are nicely hidden on the new table behind the chair. It is just so much better!

Dinner Date
First Date
Wow, we were young. Twenty-three years ago, you took me on our first date. I thought I was a little bit crazy, because I certainly wasn’t looking for a relationship. Still, I thought it might be fun for a while. I didn’t realize then that “a while” meant “lifetime,” and, that through it all, you would always be right there with me. Sometimes, a little bit of fun in your life is all you need. I love you, Andy!
