Andy came out of our bedroom at 11 pm to discover this…
We put him to bed at nine in his actual bed and his light was off. Things that make you go hmm…
Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time
It has been over two months since I last made a menu plan. It is time to get this little piece of “normal” back. I am tired of never having what we need and cobbling dinner together. It is also makes grocery shopping easier with trips only one time per week instead of several. I already feel more relaxed about the next two weeks.
The day has arrived. As we are preparing Laura’s room for a new desk, she decided that it was time to pack up nearly all of her American Girl things so that she can have a reading nook. While “the girls” will remain in her room, most of the accessories will be boxed and stored. She doesn’t want to sell any of it, because she might want it someday “for her daughter” as she said. This momma is having a sad moment as I look at just a small part of it. How did she get old enough for this? Wasn’t she just six yesterday and we were buying her the first doll? The excitement in her eyes that day was so amazing. She was the center of attention with Aunt Jill and her cousins at the Chicago store. Laura will be 12 in just two short weeks. Where has the time gone?
I love John, but I would love to get more than two months out of a pair of his shoes. Every time I think he has figured out every way possible to ruin a pair of shoes, he finds another way. This time, John split out the side, so it was an emergency trip to Academy for new Nikes. Is it bad that I am looking forward to the day that he is growing so fast that he out grows them in two months?!? Boys!
We sold John’s castle recently to one of his old teachers who wanted “Hogwarts” for her classroom. With the castle now gone, John got a television for his room. He also got our old Xbox. Andy will add a small shelf for the Xbox and then John will be all set up. He discovered that he can watch YouTube and Amazon Prime Video in his room. Netflix does not work as there are currently problems with the app for Vizio televisions (it does not work on our bedroom television either). John is excited and both kids think it is super cool. We shall see how this goes!
