I finally got a chance to ride the Green & Black ride with the team again this week after nearly six weeks away. It felt great!
Cub Scout Fundraiser
If any of you would like some popcorn or Burger’s Smokehouse products, I have a Cub Scout who would love to sell it to you! This year, John and his Pack are raising funds for camping adventures and supplies. We also have online ordering set up! Go to https://www.trails-end.com/sellers/support/scout/ to purchase from John. Click the “I Have a Scout Code” button and enter this code: 2BY3N0PF. The products are a bit limited online, so if you want something that isn’t there or want to order Burger’s Smokehouse, I can always ship to you. Thank you!

A Day of Cycling
It was a day of cycling for Andy and I. I put in just over 40 miles and Andy was just over 90. I know, I know… I pale in comparison. We began the day at the Red Shoe Ride.
Let’s just say that the conditions were not pleasant. It was windy and hot. Like 97 degrees hot. Andy rode the 50-mile route.
I rode the 20-mile route and participated in “Operation Keep Cody Alive.” The husband of one our teammates has begun cycling and he showed up today to ride. He did great for such a tough ride day! Wind mixed with small hills is simply not pleasant for a beginning cyclist. Heck, I hated it and I am not a beginner anymore! Thank goodness for rest stops and cold water on those stops.
After the Red Shoe Ride, we relaxed for a bit, visited the swimming pool, and then headed out for another 22-mile ride. We met some friends for the Moonlight Ride, which involves riding down the Katy Trail, watching the sunset, enjoying some drinks and conversation, and riding home by moonlight. It was the perfect end to the day.
