Andy and I went out for a couple of celebratory drinks. My interim appointment and the salary was approved today. It is only for while I am Interim Director, but I will take it! The Kassel Castle will be getting a new garage door and some work done on our half bath.
Growing up, I made pie crust from scratch. There was no such thing as store bought EVER. My mom was a master at it and she passed that trait to me. I have followed that religiously, and am working to teach Laura how to be a master. Today, I might have slipped a little… I can just hear my mom now, “You BOUGHT pie crust?!? Did I not teach you anything? What is wrong with you?” I am well aware that my mother is glaring down at me disappointed (I might be smiling just a bit at that). However, I found a homemade pop tarts recipe and I figured maybe it would be easier just this one time. So, I’m sorry, Mom, and I promise that it will never, ever happen again! I love you though and miss you every day!
John is on his first Boy Scout campout with Troop 706. He was so excited to go. Here is to hoping that he is having a great time and learning a lot despite the rain!
John is the Grub Master for his first Boy Scout campout. That means that it is his responsibility to make the list and buy the food for his patrol. Everything is purchased and ready to pack up tomorrow.
