Going Through Life One Blog Post at a Time

Two years ago today, Laura got her letter that she would be following in my footsteps and playing the clarinet. Today, John learned that he will be following in Andy’s footsteps and playing the trumpet next year. The tradition lives on!

He is risen! He is risen indeed! Happy Easter from the Kassel Family!

We went to the 8:30 church service where John took his first communion and Laura served as an acolyte.

After the service, we ate brunch at church and then went home to see if the Easter Bunny came. As we pulled up to the house, we saw lots of eggs hidden in the front yard!

The kids were excited to find their Easter baskets…

…and hunt for Easter eggs.

We spent the rest of the day enjoying ourselves. The weather was beautiful, and we all got to enjoy the outdoors. Andy and I took a bike ride and then relaxed on our front porch while the kids played with friends. We enjoyed a great dinner on our deck and finished it off with cheesecake. It was a wonderful Easter!
We dyed Easter eggs today. I love that the kids still get excited to do this every year!

The kids were more involved this year. They handled everything from the vinegar to the dye tablets to the water.

The took turns placing eggs in the dye. Laura loves the red color and she is always so careful putting the eggs in the dye.

Meanwhile, I was just hoping that John wouldn’t break the egg as he put it in the dye.

We ended up with 23 eggs because we discovered that one had cracked during boiling. It was fine though because the lime green color was really ugly.

I truly wonder how many more years I have left before the kids will refuse to dye eggs. I will miss these days.
We started the weekend at COMO Growlers and Pints. I have discovered a couple of new stouts that are super yummy!

Well, now I have a lot of answers. I will be using a CPAP soon.

The Big Tree Cycling Green and Black ride is back. This is my favorite team ride and is always a good time!
