While John and I were off at a baseball tournament last month, Andy was taking this picture of the Hickman High School Marching Band. I copied it from Andy’s photo share, but forgot to post it. I am so proud of Laura for stepping out of her comfort zone, but I am also sorry that she doesn’t get to truly have the marching band experience. Here is to hoping that her sophomore year allows for Friday Night Lights and band competitions!
It was not your typical first day of school pictures or typical classrooms, but it worked! John was up at 6:45, so he could be in his “classroom” for his first Zoom session at 7:30.
Laura’s school day began at 9 am. How do we already have a freshman? She chose to use her bed as her Hickman High School “classroom” today.
Both kids said that online school was not as bad as they thought it would be though they really want to be back IN school. All in all, it was a pretty good first day in this crazy world.
Emails from teachers are finally arriving. The iPad and laptop are officially working. The desktop computers are set up as a back up. Wine is purchased.
I think we are ready for online school to start tomorrow! Here is to hoping that online school doesn’t last that long and Laura and John get back to in-person schooling and their friends as quickly as possible.

Three Kassels…
…met two Turners, and, rode the “bike train” to breakfast at the Broadway Diner. It was a great and tasty start to the morning!
You can say whatever you want about Christmas decorations being in stores in September (and I would normally agree with you), but I walked down those aisles anyway. It is the first time that I have been in one of my most favorite stores since early March. Hello to my happy place!
Seriously, that Grinch-themed pillow is super cute. There is just something about, “Maybe Christmas”, he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.” I resisted buying two today because the discount is not big enough, YET, but when that 50% kicks in, get out of my way!
