Someone is waiting for Andy to come to bed…

Someone is waiting for Andy to come to bed…

At the last minute, I decided to take the afternoon off and go for a bike ride. It has been rough lately and I am out of sorts. Some stuff has happened, but it is mainly that I am always going and I never stop. Between 60-to-80 hour work weeks, not taking vacation when I take vacation time, baseball, band, other school activities, household activities, and just life in general, I am tired – as in, really tired.
So, I rode today with the guy who bears most of the brunt of when I am out of sorts. I am sort of surprised that he even wanted to ride with me given my general level of grumpiness these days, but he jumped at the chance. As we rolled down the MKT towards Hindman Junction, I was thinking two things . The first is that I am ridiculously out of shape. The second is that you can fix a lot of things when it is just you, the guy, and the sound of wheels moving over the trail.
My legs are screaming at me and I am going to be sore tomorrow, but I feel much less out of sorts. Thanks to the guy for riding with me. I know you said that you have missed riding with me, but I think just maybe I got more out of today than you did.

We found some fresh rhubarb this weekend, so why not make a pie? I know I will not eat it, but Andy and Laura will most likely devour it!

I asked Andy to make brisket for dinner, and he delivered. It was so tasty! We even get to have it two more times thanks to the ability to put it in the freezer.

Laura’s eyes may be closed because of the sun in this picture, but both she and John had a great time with Haley and Taylor at the pool. I cannot believe that that pool will be closing soon for the season. Summer is over.

And, Laura’s school picture came in today complete with her wearing a Pink Floyd t-shirt. How did we manage to get the boy to wear a collared shirt and the girl wore the t-shirt?!?

It is not the best school picture that John has ever taken, but it is certainly not the worst. I will take it!
