The swing has not changed much,…

…but the kid sure has!

Since the kids have marching band rehearsal every Tuesday night, Andy and I have been taking advantage of the nights off to spend some time together. This evening, we rode our bikes over to Oakland Park for a picnic.

We spent a couple of hours just talking, laughing, and enjoying each other without all the craziness of normal life.

Laura led her first combined Scout meeting today. She did a great job! I am so proud of her.

In an effort to avoid John using the school vending machines, I bought Chex Mix and put it in snack bags for him. Now, I just have to remember to have him take it to school with him.

The Kassel family has three new Arrowmen in its midst. Laura, John, and Andy completed the Ordeal this weekend to be inducted into the Order of the Arrow. Congratulations to my three favorite Scouts!

And, they are off to the Order of the Arrow Conclave at the Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation. Good luck to my three scouts. Have a great time!

Cross your fingers because the man-child is at the grill tonight!
