Going Through Life One Post at a Time
After a crazy couple of weeks, it was wonderful to get a little bit of quiet.

Today, Laura is, “The Graduate.”

She earned a George Washington Carver Award, which is given to students in the top ten percent of the graduating class.

She also graduated with Highest Honors among the top 36 in her class, meaning that she maintained a 3.9 unweighted GPA over seven terms.

It was a lot of hard work, but you did it, Red!

As Dr. Seuss said, “Kid, you’ll move mountains! Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting. So… Get on your way!” Your first mountain is complete. It is time to throw that graduation cap high and march on to the base of the second mountain. Southeast Missouri State University awaits.

We could not be more proud of you! We love you to the moon and back and then some.

John earned a Varsity letter for eSports this year.

He played two games this year – Super Smash Bros (Junior Varsity) and APEX Legends (Varsity).

Congratulations John! By the way, ignore the spelling on his certificate. We had a good laugh about how the spelling of the game and our last name was wrong.
I made this for Laura’s Graduation Open House. It seems crazy that she is almost a graduate.

Andy and I attended the Great Rivers Council Boonslick Recognition Adult Volunteer Event this evening.

Andy received two awards – the William D. Boyce New-Unit Organizer Award for helping to start Troop 523 and the Unit Spark Plug Award for his work as Committee Chair with Troops 523 and 706.

Congratulations Andy!
Laura received the Bob Alderson Boone Electric Community Trust Scholarship tonight.

This is a community scholarship awarded to one senior at Hickman High School who exemplifies outstanding scholarship, community service, and leadership.

Congratulations, Red! We are so proud of you!

I watched John walk into Hickman by himself this morning. There is only one Kassel kid at Hickman now.
